What is Polymer Clay?
Polymer Clay is an art medium that is known for its versatility and pliability. It is an oven bake modeling material composed different materials and fillers. Not a natural clay, it is man-made from a plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) base. It stays continually soft and can be baked in a home oven, retaining its color and size. It is available in many colors, including metallic, glow-in-the-dark and "stone." It can be used to simulate many materials: stone, semi-precious stones, porcelain, wood, and glass. Polymer Clay provides easy customization, is easy to mix with other colors/ brands, and used for fun to create different looks, textures, and shapes.
Are there special instructions for polymer clay jewelry?
Yes! Due to it's different material, there are a few things you have to know about polymer clay jewelry care.
- Polymer clay is durable and flexible, however bending should be avoided because it can break.
- It can get wet but submerging in the water is not advised.
- Store in a cool and dry place. Place in a box to prevent scratching. NEVER leave polymer clay in a hot vehicle or in extreme temperature, like plastic it can melt.
- Avoid contact with lotions, oils, or perfume to prevent breakdown or discoloration.
- Remove dust by wiping with a wet cotton swab or paper towel. For stains, use acetone on a cotton swab.
What finishes do you use?
We are committed to using lasting, quality materials in all of our jewelry. We use either Stainless Steel or gold-plated stainless steel to protect sensitive ears. We will soon be introducing brass pieces in our future collections, we know brass may tarnish over time but we use a safe sealant and will include instructions to prevent tarnish as well.
Do you accomodate gauges or clip ons?
At this time we do not accommodate gauges but we are willing to work with you and provide you any modifications needed. We DO make clip-on earrings in any style as part of a customized request. Please contact us with these requests in advance!
Do you do custom designs or commissions?
We would love to help you in a custom request. Unfortunately it is truly dependent on the timing. Contact us to chat about your needs and we can see what an acceptable timeline would be for your event! We love helping brides prep for their wedding day with custom earrings for themselves or their bridesmaids as a little frosting on their gorgeous looks! We love helping preserve memories or bring out a passion visually!
Returns
What is your return policy?
We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, without damage and in its original packing box. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
How to do I initiate a return?
To start a return, you can contact us at beautifulcoloresstudio@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, we will give you all of the information on how and where to send it, however the return fees WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBLITY. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted for refund.
Shipping
Where is my package/says delivered but I haven't received it?
We are so sorry if this does happen! At checkout we have an option for shipping insurance so if your package is lost, stolen, or damaged you covered! If you choose not to add shipping insurance to your order Beautiful Colores Studio nor the Postal Service is liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen items. If this happens and we confirm you got the insurance, contact us immediately so we can ship another item to you ASAP.
How long does it take to process an order?
Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed for shipping. We make every effort to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Understand that this is a one-woman show (for the moment *fingers crossed*) and as such I am limited on my abilities but if you have any issues or questions please feel free to contact me at Beautifulcoloresstudio@gmail.com :)
What about shipping?
Due to the pandemic and Covid restrictions we understand how anxious you are to receive your order. We also understand the hard working people who handle packages at USPS are limited at this time as well. All shipping depends on their policies and availability and is out of our control. Shipping times depend on your location. The USPS website quotes, but does not guarantee, 2-8 days for domestic delivery. International shipping takes longer. We use first class priority shipping through USPS and at this time do not offer faster shipping rates.
Do you offer local pickup?
We do offer local pickup, adhering to all COVID guidelines for our safety and yours. If you are local to Northern Virginia and prefer local pickup please let me know and I will give you a special discount code to deduct shipping costs and we can figure out a time and place to meet-up.
